What is really going on with Elfwood?

I was an active Elfwood member around 2005, when Elfwood was blooming and the founder Thomas Abrahamsson was still active. 2008 he left Elfwood, but was a board member until 2012. After 2012 Elfwood got new ownership and a new team remade the site; it failed miserably.

I found out that the Elfwood team was seated in Linköping in Sweden, which is close to Stockholm where I was, so I offered them suggestions on how to grow, but got little feedback. In the beginning of 2016 I sent one final email to the Elfwood staff, explaining that I would like to make Elfwood commercially viable. Within 24 hours I got a friendly reply from the owner of Elfwood, we met and realised that we had the same vision for Elfwood; we wanted the good old soul and heart of the Elfwood community back.

I constructed a design for the new Elfwood, then contacted Elfwood’s founder Thomas. He had a look at the design and the day after we had a chat, and he told that he wouldn’t mind being back in Elfwood as a board member and advisor. Obviously he liked the design and our vision!

From earlier projects I know a good team of programmers, we gathered in a few meetings, and agreed that they will program the new Elfwood for a pretty affordable cost, and that the new elfwood.com will be finished this summer 2016.

It feels good to be surrounded by such good and experienced people like Thomas, the owner of Elfwood, and these professional programmers, but what would give Elfwood that BIG boost is… community. I believe that the Elfwood community should rebuild the new Elfwood.

Short-term goals:
Get elfwood.com and the community up and running.
Elfwood Facebook is updated daily.
Elfwood Pinterest is updated daily (shared Pinboards).

We might need help with programming, administration, daily updates on Elfwood’s social media channels, interviews, selecting kick-ass video trailers, tutorials, and other superfun things.

What can you offer to the community?
Let me know on info@elfood.org
